Scale Modelworld 2007 ~ Competition Class Definitions

  • SK = Standard Kit (unaltered plastic kit), for exceptions ... see specific rules below ...

Just so there's no misunderstanding with the ruling for the SK Classification ... Standard Kit (SK) - A single, commercially produced injection moulded plastic or resin kit, built to the manufacturers specifications straight from the box. Seat belts, rigging and aerials may be added as appropriate to the subject but no other detailing will be permited. No open cockpits unless it is an option on the kit. No opened hatches, etc. Kit instructions must be attached to the entry form or the model will be disqualified. Changes in colour scheme and aftermarket decals are permitted, e.g. Me109 from German to Spanish markings.

  • ASK = Any Source Kit (unaltered multimedia kit ? plastic, resin, metal etc)

  • ASD = Any Source Detailed (either of the above with additional detailing by the modeller)

  • ASC = Any Source Converted (kit converted to a different Mark or Variant)

  • V = Vac-Form Kit (model assembled from vac form plastic parts)

  • SD = Superdetailed (any model which has numerous hatches / inspection panels and turrets removed, and significant detail added by the modeller)

  • S = Scratchbuilt (model not constructed from a commercially available kit)
