WWII SIG

Introduction

During the period of 2007/8, while attending clubs and shows, an idea was put together to form the WWII SIG. The SIG's ethos is to keep a deep and passionate interest in the 2nd World War alive. This would then encompass all areas including Home Front, Land Army Girls, Air, Land and Sea warfare, while giving remembrance to such large loses by all nationalities. The objective of the SIG is to bring like minded people together who share an interest in WWII and to promote the IPMS when attending shows all over the UK. The view would be a common interest of modelling shown through models and artefacts i.e. photographs and exhibits about the lives of military and ordinary people. This would show an objective view of WWII without judging the people involved at the time for their actions which they believed to be correct. The plan of the SIG is to evolve slowly to enable the SIG to broaden its horizons without over reaching the members and to enable us to achieve our long term aims. In the future we would like to attract other modellers so that we can widen the interest of anything involved in WWII. Understanding the broadness of this topic we would like to be able to provide information, resources and inform anyone who has a passion about WWII.
