Magazine ~ Issue 1/2008

Welcome to Issue 1/2008 of the IPMS
(UK) Magazine.
In this issue ...
RMS Mauritania - How
Jim Bauman built the SMW 2007 Best of Show model and a
history of the real thing.
SMW 2007 Reports and
Results ... It just keeps on getting better.
Trumpeter 2007 Results ... Who's going to
China?
USAF SIG Display ...
Haydn Hughes tells the story of how the impressive 60th
Anniversary display came
together.
... and of course all the usual
IPMS (UK) business including News, Reviews and
Events.

Have you built a model you're really
proud of? ... Would you like to see your model featured in
the magazine? ... Would you like to get paid for your
efforts? ... If the answer to any of those questions is
'YES', the Editor would like to hear from
you.
The Society requires well written
build articles for the magazine. We want to hear from you if
you've built something interesting or different, especially
subjects which are not aircraft related, although we need
those too. We also want to hear from you if you've been
researching a subject and you think that the membership
would benefit from reading about
it.
Each article is paid for at a rate
of £10.00 per printed page, including photographs, not
a fortune by todays standards but this is your magazine, put
together by modellers' for modellers'. Your article should
be approximately 2000 words long, well written, ideally
double spaced and spell checked, and the photographs
(ideally copied onto a CD in their original un-worked
format), should be in focus, reasonably well lit and taken
on a plain background, (no dodgy patterns or weird colours
please). If you're spelling is atrocious and you think you
may need the assistance of someone putting the article
together, we still want to hear from you, that's what the
spell checker is for (eh! Chris?).
So what are you waiting for? ... If
you require any further information about submissions,
contact the Editor, John
Tapsell.

6 issues of the IPMS (UK) Magazine are as
